James Mathison, Personaje Cuadrícula (Grid Character), 2009 - A grid is a pattern of horizontal and vertical lines that intersect to form equal squares or rectangles. In art, particularly in drawing and painting, the grid is traditionally used as a tool for copying, scaling, and maintaining the precise proportions of an image by dividing it into smaller, measurable sections. In Personaje Cuadrícula (Grid Character), the grid becomes more than a practical device: it serves as a structural and visual element, transforming a method of representation into a sculptural language.

Aldo Castillo founded his gallery in Chicago in 1993. For more than three decades, he has championed exceptional Modern, Contemporary, and Latin American artists. Today, he personally welcomes collectors at the gallery on Fifth Avenue South in Naples, Florida.
He knows the artists, their studios, and the stories behind their work.
