Amy Hughes — After Alhambra in Lilac, Turquoise and Royal Blue
British artist Amy Hughes reimagines the magnificent Alhambra Vases, monumental lustreware vessels produced in Granada during Spain’s Nasrid period.
Rather than reproducing these historic objects, Hughes transforms their distinctive proportions, wing-like handles, and elaborate surface decoration through a bold contemporary language of lilac, turquoise, and royal blue.
