About the collection
Rodolfo Abularach, Selena, 1980, Mezzotint, 70/100 - Rodolfo Abularach Guatemala, 1933 to 2020
Rodolfo Abularach was one of Guatemala's most celebrated modern artists, internationally recognized for his mesmerizing paintings and prints centered on the human eye as a symbol of perception, spirituality, and the human condition. Of Palestinian descent, he studied in Guatemala and later in New York, where he refined his mastery of painting and printmaking. His works are held in the permanent collections of leading institutions, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), SFMOMA, LACMA, the Hammer Museum, and the Art Museum of the Americas, among many others worldwide.
