What it is
A whole building, curated as one collection.
A residence or a commercial space asks more of art than a single wall does. The works have to hold together as a collection, suit the architecture, and live with the people who pass them every day. Aldo takes the whole building as the brief: what it needs and in what order, which works and where, how each is framed, lit and installed, and how the collection can grow.
Aldo Castillo has curated since the early years of his career, at his own gallery and for others: the American Art Pavilion at Art Shanghai, the Miami International Art Fair, and at the Museo Popol Vuh in Guatemala City.

From a site visit to the last work installed.

A site visit and a first conversation settle the scope. Aldo quotes one flat advisory fee against it.
Aldo develops the collection.
What the building needs and in what order, with curatorial selection from the gallery, its artists and the wider market, and a placement plan for every room.
The collection takes shape, room by room.
Installation guidance on site, coordinated with the framers and installers the gallery uses for its own walls.

Before you begin.
How is a project charged?
As a customised flat advisory fee based on the scope, quoted after a site visit and confirmed before work begins. Artworks acquired for the project are invoiced separately.
Who is a project for?
Private residences, and commercial spaces such as lobbies and offices, where art has to live with the architecture and with the people who use the rooms every day.
Must the works come from the gallery?
No. Selection draws on the gallery, the artists it represents and the wider market, and any compensation the gallery or a seller would receive is disclosed clearly to you.
