The fee
Charged for the time it takes.
Aldo's knowledge, eye, artist relationships and decades of experience are what you engage.
$300 per hour
Two hour minimum for on site consultations
One hour at the gallery or by video call; two hours or more on site
Confirmed when the time is booked. The gallery invoices after the consultation; nothing is paid online.
Consultation fees may be credited once toward a qualifying artwork acquisition of $10,000 or more made through Aldo Castillo Gallery within twelve months.

What it is
Aldo's eye, for the question you have now.
A consultation is Aldo's undivided attention on your collection: the works you live with, the works you are considering, and the gap between them. He says what he would acquire, what he would pass over, and why, whether the work comes from the gallery, from one of the artists it represents, or from the wider market.
Every work the gallery offers is guaranteed to be by the artist named, and any compensation the gallery would receive from a seller is disclosed to you plainly.
Aldo Castillo opened his gallery in Chicago in 1993 and has presented hundreds of exhibitions since. He receives collectors himself, at the gallery on Fifth Avenue South in Naples.
How it works
Three conversations, then a decision.
You tell us what you have and what you are looking for.
At the gallery, in your rooms or by video call. The walls, the budget, and the works you already live with.
Aldo prepares a selection.
Works from the gallery, from the artists he represents and from the wider market, each with its price, its provenance and its condition.
You see the work before you decide.
On Fifth Avenue South, or in your own rooms. Nothing is acquired unseen, and the consultation fee may be credited toward a qualifying acquisition.

How is the consultation charged?
$300 per hour. On site consultations carry a two hour minimum. The fee is confirmed when the time is booked, and the gallery invoices once the consultation has taken place; nothing is paid online.

Do you advise on works from other galleries?
Yes. The advice is charged for Aldo's time, not tied to a sale, and it covers works from the gallery and from the wider market alike. Any compensation the gallery or a seller would receive is disclosed to you plainly.
