About the exhibition
Glimpse of Nature opened on 12 January 2021 at the gallery's Miromar Design Center space. In the gallery's own words it is an exhibition that juxtaposes nature's architecture and organic matter.
Ramon Chirinos, born in 1950 in Falcon, Venezuela, is considered one of the most influential Latin American masters of the 20th century. In his work Chirinos blends native tradition and European influences to produce distinctive masterpieces.
In the work of the Greek artist Apostol Nikolakopoulos, a former economist who signs his work simply Apostol, it is easy to see the far reaching influence of American capitalism in his country, which has been suffering a dire financial crisis. It is far more challenging to understand how this former economist also translates metal and glass into complex interpretations of the sea and nature.
