The work in depth

Ruins with an obelisk in the distance, Hubert Robert

A striking photomontage by Lluís Barba that reimagines Hubert Robert's 18th-century painting of Roman ruins, populating the classical architectural space with contemporary figures, flying pigs, and scenes of modern life. The work critiques art-world commodification and celebrity culture by weaving Old Master references seamlessly into a scene charged with contemporary iconography. Presented on a black light box ready to hang.
