Rosa Segura
Biography & Works
Born in San Sebastián, Spain, Rosa Segura considers herself self-taught as a sculptor although she has study art and has taken many art seminars. Rosa Segura is inspired by the beauty of the art of classical Greece and Ancient Egypt. That lead her to focus directly towards sculpture. Rosa studied and specialized in free drawing and modeling in a number of different Madrid Art Schools. She currently lives and works in Madrid.
Some pieces can be seen at permanent exhibitions in galleries in the States, Canada, Belgium and Holland.
Bio
At present Rosa Segura is focused on the concept of figures related to the space they occupy: the fight for domination of this space and the strain between form and vacuum, which is a major theme in her work.
She became increasingly passionate about sculpting, and found her ideas and feelings mirrored in certain pieces of literature, in particular a work whose main character expressed the feeling of giving shape and substance to an inanimate piece of clay. Little by little, she became more deeply involved in the art world, gradually achieving worldwide renown and reputation.
Rosa has had various solo and collective exhibitions both in Spain and other countries: United States, Canada, Belgium and Holland to name just a few. She has participated in many collective exhibitions and International Art Fairs as well as in International Open Air Sculpture Exhibitions.
She has been given several awards and her work appears in several private and publicly-owned collections.
Some pieces can be seen at permanent exhibitions in galleries in the States, Canada, Belgium and Holland.
In this exhibition, she presents a display reflecting the evolution of her work, a representation of the different creative stages her work has gone through.
