CLARITA BRINKERHOFF
BIOGRAPHY & WORKS
Inspired by the crafting of jewelry, Clarita Brinkerhoff creates sculptural forms in metal and Swarovski Stellux Crystals. Her art focuses on nature, its animal kingdom and the preservation of it. The attention to detail in her creations are in perfect harmony with the shape of her subject matter. The result is an extraordinary art form that mimics perfection.
Her pieces are first sculpted in clay, which is then used to make a wax mold. Molten metal is poured into the wax mold and from there, holes are drilled into each piece for the stones to be securely placed. Every single crystal is set by hand, one by one. Some of her works range in size from 18 to 48 inches, and hold up to 45,000 crystal stones in each sculpture.
Her pieces can be found in influential international private collections, including Hong Kong, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, New Delhi, Mumbai, Europe, Canada and the United States, just to name a few.
