Scott Ashley Reflection I, Self-Portrait Painting
With its eccentric and theatrical presence, this portrait may initially evoke a celebrity such as David Bowie. Yet the figure is Scott Ashley himself. The work creates an intriguing contrast between its flamboyant appearance and the artist’s quiet, reserved personality, exploring the distance between public image, personal identity, and the many ways the self can be perceived.
