The work in depth
ADDICTED
ADDICTED - Dutch artist Kevin Langedijk (1982) combines his background in graphic design, pop culture, and international fashion with a critical view of consumer society. In the series “ADDICTED,” he explores the relationship between luxury brands, identity, and desire by placing iconic logos on enlarged XTC pill forms. Inspired by the branding culture of the late 1980s and early 1990s, Langedijk reflects on how symbols of status and pleasure can become addictive. Each work is meticulously crafted from layered wood with a matte finish that recreates the texture of a pill, transforming familiar logos into colorful reflections on contemporary culture.
