Mariano Costa Peuser
Mariano Costa Peuser was born in 1958 in Mendoza, Argentina. He took up photography as his main activity at the age of twenty and trained in Buenos Aires at the Escuela Superior Nueva Escuela and the Instituto de Fotografía del Foto Club, followed by specialized workshops in lighting and composition at the Asociación Argentina de Fotógrafos Profesionales. In 2000 he moved to the United States, and he has lived and worked in Miami ever since.
His work has been published and exhibited widely and is held in museum and private collections. Between 2007 and 2011 he showed steadily in Miami's gallery and alternative spaces, among them Kavachnina Contemporary, Art Rouge Gallery, Giovanni Rossi Fine Art, Hardcore Contemporary Art Space in Wynwood, the Wynwood Exhibition Center, Lelia Mordoch Gallery and the Centro Cultural Español, as well as at Miami Dade College and the Freedom Tower, and in Atlanta, Chicago, Buenos Aires and the Dominican Republic. Works from these years include Anti Art Man, Miami Construction, Pig and Money, Happy Death, Las Mazas, Financial Bike and Show Bizz, and he took part in the Giants in the City inflatable sculpture exhibitions in Miami and the Dominican Republic.
He has been presented at art fairs including arteBA and Buenos Aires Photo in Argentina, Arteaméricas, Red Dot Miami and Pinta New York in the United States, and the Latin American Pavilion at Art Shanghai in 2010 and 2011, and his work has been included in benefit auctions at the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) in Long Beach, California.
