Amy Hughes is a British painter, born in 1992 in Leicestershire. She earned a BA (Hons) in Fine Art at Liverpool Hope University in 2013 and an MFA at the New York Academy of Art in 2016, where she has since taught painting.

Amy Hughes
Amy Hughes is a British painter, born in 1992 in Leicestershire. She earned a BA (Hons) in Fine Art at Liverpool Hope University in 2013 and an MFA at the New York Academy of Art in 2016, where she has since taught painting. She has completed artist residencies in the United Kingdom and in New York, and her work has been exhibited internationally in solo and group exhibitions, including the International Biennale Portrait Competition at the Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art.
Hughes has received the Prince of Wales Award and the Liverpool Women's Hospital Purchase Prize. Her paintings are held in public and private collections and have been sold at Sotheby's New York, and her practice has been featured in publications including W Magazine, Aesthetica Magazine, Cheshire Life and the Liverpool Echo.
